Kassandra Thatcher is a ceramic artist and poet based in NYC. She has been working within sculptural mediums, from clay to plaster to language, for the last ten years. Kassandra makes sculptural lamps and non-functional sculptural works born out of a biomorphic practice; preoccupied with the curvature of a woman’s body, space where limbs meet. She is concerned with the abstraction of those shapes and how to push them into the space of static gestures. The basin for her creative practice is spatial relations; the relationship between spaces and everything else — time, volume, light, shadow.
