Kalodromo, which means “good way”, is a small manufactory on the Greek island of Naxos in the heart of the Aegean Sea. All vessels made by Tom von Kaenel are unique and handcrafted. The Naxian marble is sourced from the surrounding marble quarries of the island. Typically white, grey or yellow-brown colour, its structure is crystalline. No measuring instruments other than compasses and scales are used in the production of an object - the eye decides the final shape. This small deviation in symmetry gives the form its individual tension. These unique vessels are kept raw, meaning the surfaces are deliberately left unpolished to leave traces of the craft visible.

Every natural stone product is unique; variation in colour, tone, veining, and pattern is to be expected as part of the stone’s inherent characteristics. Markings, lines, and crystallization are not imperfections, but rather a natural part of the stone’s beauty.
